Africa’s youth are under immense pressure to be problem solvers and value creators. There is a critical need to shift African citizens from job-seeking to job creation at scale.

The goal of the Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge is to nurture a critical mass of individuals with the entrepreneurial potential to create high-impact innovations that can disrupt industries, open new markets, and redefine how Africans live and work.

The Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge is a free annual six-week online Challenge focused on developing the entrepreneurial mindset of junior and senior secondary/high school learners throughout Kenya. The Challenge equips learners with entrepreneurial competencies and prepares learners to be the next generation of global leaders, change-makers, and innovative thinkers.

.THE CHALLENGE

Wavumbuzi is accessible to learners and teachers through any internet-connected computer, tablet, or mobile device. Learners participate in the Challenge using a gameworld, while teachers can monitor progress through the teacher portal.

For each Edition of the Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge, content is created through the lens of themes, called Quests, selected for their relevance to African and global challenges as well as their potential interest to learners taking part in the Challenge. Each Quest is a thematic journey designed to ignite innovation, foster learning, and inspire action.

.PRIZES

Each week there will be prizes up for grabs for Wavumbuzi top learners. These lucky few will be announced across the Wavumbuzi Social Media channels, and a Wavumbuzi Ambassador will reach out to them via email or phone to arrange the delivery of their prize.

Overall prizes will also be awarded to the top learners, teachers, and schools. These individuals will be invited to attend an action-packed National Awards Event where they will be awarded some fantastic prizes. Top learners will also join the Wavumbuzi Top Learner’s Mentorship Program.
