RWANDA’S LEADING CHALLENGE
FOR ASPIRING SECONDARY SCHOOL ENTREPRENEURS

One of the single greatest difficulties we face in education today is fully preparing our youth for the challenges of tomorrow. In a rapidly evolving job market, our learners are at risk of being left behind as automation, technology and artificial intelligence begins to change the way we work, the way we think, and the way we learn.

We need to do more to prepare our youth with the pervasive entrepreneurial mindsets to flourish in life after school.

Building on the foundations of Rwanda’s existing competence based curriculum in entrepreneurship, the Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge starts learners on a journey to develop five pervasive entrepreneurial mindsets – drive, resilience, self-efficacy, initiative and innovative thinking, that will equip them for success as they enter the future global workplace.

The Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge is NOW LIVE for students to explore, and very soon they will be able to also complete challenges and earn points! No more waiting, no more countdowns, it is here!

The time is now. Start helping your students get familiar with this stage of the Challenge ahead of the additional levels being released.

There are loads of prizes that are up for grabs for top-performing teachers, students, and schools once the challenge is open! You don’t want to miss these from the get-go and be in the running to win some.

.WHO?

S1 – S6 Secondary School Learners
The Wavumbuzi Challenge is open for all secondary school learners in S1 to S6 to register for our 6-week challenge. All you need is access to the internet.

Educators
We’re forming an influential community of next-generation teachers across the country, equipping them with 21st-century learning tools and challenging them to prepare our youth for success in Rwanda’s dynamic future global marketplace.

.THE CHALLENGE

Learners across Rwanda compete against each other by completing weekly challenges in a web browser and mobile app based game, which tackle some of the country’s most important problems. Each challenge requires learners to apply new concepts in real-world situations and submit their experiences for review.

Points earned place learners, teachers and their schools on live leaderboards, with the top performers being rewarded with weekly incentives and a selection of exciting grand prizes.

 PRIZES

Wavumbuzi Partner Schools qualify to receive learner, teacher and school prizes/incentives.

Incentives are awarded on a weekly basis and vary from cash prizes to mobile data bundles.

Grand Prizes are awarded to the top-performing learners, teachers and schools at the Wavumbuzi Grand Awards Ceremony.
