RWANDA’S LEADING CHALLENGE
FOR ASPIRING SECONDARY SCHOOL ENTREPRENEURS
We believe that the biggest challenge facing our continent is youth unemployment. Supporting young entrepreneurs is key to creating jobs and ensuring meaningful employment. The better we are at enhancing the abilities of young people at an early age to see a problem in society and come up with a solution, the better prepared they will be for the future world of work, either as entrepreneurs or entrepreneurial leaders.
Join the Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge!
This exciting, six-week online competition is free for high school students across Rwanda. It is designed to spark the entrepreneurial spirit and build essential skills through inspiring real-life success stories from across Africa.
The Wavumbuzi Challenge isn’t just about starting businesses. It’s a journey to enhance essential 21st-century skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Participants will also enhance their self-efficacy, digital literacy, and lifelong learning skills, equipping them for success in the modern world.

.THE CHALLENGE
Students across Rwanda compete against each other by completing weekly challenges in a web browser and mobile app based game, which tackle some of the country’s most important problems. Each challenge requires students to apply new concepts in real-world situations and submit their experiences for review.
Points earned place students, teachers and their schools on live leaderboards, with the top performers being rewarded with weekly incentives and a selection of exciting grand prizes.
PRIZES
Wavumbuzi Partner Schools qualify to receive student, teacher and school prizes/incentives.
Incentives are awarded on a weekly basis and vary from cash prizes to mobile data bundles.
Grand Prizes are awarded to the top-performing students, teachers and schools at the Wavumbuzi Grand Awards Ceremony.
