we learn.
Learners who are best prepared for the future are change agents. They can have a positive impact on their surroundings, influence the future, understand others’ intentions, actions and feelings, and anticipate the short and long-term consequences of what they do.
Wavumbuzi is a six-week challenge which can be accessed on any computer, tablet or mobile device with internet connectivity. Learners compete against each other by completing weekly activities, which tackle some of the continent’s most important challenges. Each activity requires learners to apply new concepts in real-world situations and submit their experience for review.
Instead of focusing on once-off business ideas, Wavumbuzi focuses on long-term mindset development as a means of equipping our youth with the skills and attitudes required for success in the future labour market.
The Wavumbuzi Challenge focuse on developing an entrepreneurial mindset. Without the pervasive mindsets, skills, and attitudes required for success in a dynamic global market, our young people are at risk of not adequately coping. Focusing on entrepreneurship, the Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge is designed to help secondary/ high school learners develop their entrepreneurial thinking skills.
Secondary School Learners
The Wavumbuzi Challenge is open for all secondary school learners in Kenya to register for our 6-week challenge. All you need is access to the internet.
Educators
We invite all secondary school teachers to register and form part of our influential community of next-generation educators across the country, as we equip them with 21st-century learning tools to inspire their students and develop an entrepreneurial way of thinking with the Wavumbuzi Challenge.
Challenges take between 10-60mins to complete, depending on their complexity. Points earned place students, teachers and their schools on live leaderboards, and the top performers are rewarded with a selection of exciting prizes.
Challenges are marked by multiple other participating learners with the help of marking rubrics. Points are earned and lost by each marker depending on how close their assessment is to the final mark awarded. If the marks awarded by various learners vary too greatly then a moderator assesses the submission and makes a final decision of the mark to be awarded.
