Empowering Educators to Nurture Africa’s
Next Generation of Entrepreneurs.

Programme Overview

The Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge is a six-week online learning initiative for secondary and high school learners. It builds the entrepreneurial competencies, confidence, and aspirations learners need to think critically, identify opportunities, and solve real problems in their communities.

Teachers are at the heart of the programme. Wavumbuzi has collaborated with more than 8,000 teachers across Kenya and Rwanda, who serve as facilitators, mentors, and motivators. They bring the programme into the classroom, supporting learners as they engage with real-world challenges and develop entrepreneurial competencies.

Wavumbuzi aligns with Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and the competency-based goals of the Rwanda Basic Education Board, making it easy to integrate into existing teaching practice.

Key Teacher Activities:

Teacher Training

We build teachers' capacity to effectively facilitate entrepreneurship learning, enhance learner engagement, and integrate mindset development into everyday teaching practice. Teachers who successfully facilitate the Challenge receive certificates.

Teacher Club Sessions

During the Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge, the Wavumbuzi team hosts Weekly teacher's clubs. During the clubs, we engage in thought-provoking conversations, gain insights from industry experts, and connect with like-minded teachers from participating schools. This is your chance to share your passion for education, entrepreneurship, and make new friends from the pool of other teacher champions.
